When I was drawing this, I felt it represented humanity- innocent when born, until succumbed to the way of the world (hence her expression). She's confused, feels isolated and left there to fend for herself. There's always hope (light) and power from up above (again, light) . Should she be distracted and leave the room or just stay in that light that she trusts so much? I don't know.
I question my spiritual strength. What about you? *** Longest journey for me in terms of a drawing process. Ups and downs. This drawing helped me conquer my fear of drawing darks and experimenting with mixed media. It's also my first emotive piece. I managed to find a way to capture the photo of this drawing with minimal glare from the graphite by using lots of dark fabric. Honestly, I'm having a hard time believing this is in graphite and coal...
But other than that, you win. Fair and square. Congrats!

thought provoking piece.
Almost looks like a photograph.
You have done a excellent job!

One day my heart beats with passion
The next it waxes black
If I seem a little callous
I assure you its just a scratch
So if you can hold on until the mood swings are gone.
Then we might just have a chance
I actually didn't draw this whole thing from a photo composition. (Wish I could do photography that well!
I plan to challenge myself with more conceptual drawings like this in the future, instead of just copying straight from photos like I used to do.
Thanks for the fav and I appreciate the watch!
Ps- do I call you Frenchie?

Don't forget who's taking you home, and in whose arms you're gonna be,
So darling, save the last dance for me. ♫
