Bummer... and this Sunday...

Wed Jul 30, 2008, 9:38 AM
I'm saddened to break this news. The atelier that I have been frequenting to do life drawing sessions and the occasional drawing classes, have decided to close its doors. Colorado Art Academy, Boulder, CO is one of a handful of ateliers in the country, teaching traditional art just like the olden days.

I was already thinking of signing up for more classes including Intro to Oils in the fall, but looks like I have to search for a new place.

***

This Sunday, Aug 3rd, I will be racing my first and only triathlon for the season. It's called Tri For The Cure at Cherry Creek Reservoir, CO.

My goal is to finish...

...750-800 yards swimming (half mile),
...12 + miles of biking and
...3+ miles of running.

I hope to finish it in less than 2 hours.

I'm ready.

***

Then I'm off for a week's vacation in the mountains at a lodge. Hopefully I'll get some inspiration to start a new piece mid August...

***

Thanks for your comments, favs and devwatch. I appreciate your kind attention very much...

Have a great August everyone!!

Hugs,
Dina.

Thanks for your fast reply, Ruth! The mini tri was just for fun-- a little thing that the organizers did to introduce triathlons to newbies. This one's the one that I've been training for since February. It's twice the distance in all categories... but you're right-- I'm quite hooked!

Many thanks!

:O I'll walk for 2 miles and it would take me an hour already!
And I get to ride my bike to the grocery only.
Anyway, nice to see you back even just for a journal.

Sounds like that lodge in the mountains would be very relaxing! Especially after running, swimming and biking! Have a great time Dina!

Thanks Michelle! Glad to hear from you....

Yeah, it's a nice break -- totally the other extreme compared to a triathlon...

I hope you're having a great summer...

Thanks Robert!

It's kind of funny, as far as our motivation to do things. Today, I had to walk less than five minutes uphill to register my kids to school and I was puffing to get there... I blamed it on my heavy Timberland sandals... lol!

Hope you're having a great summer...
